Train collides with semi truck south of Brewster | The Globe – The Globe

BREWSTER — A semi truck and a train collided at 1:38 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Minnesota 60 and 210th Street, south of Brewster.

The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the crash, and when they arrived, they found a 2006 Peterbilt semi tractor and trailer that had collided with a Union Pacific train. The truck had been traveling northeast on Minnesota 60, parallel to the train, which was also travelling northeast.

The semi truck turned east off of Minnesota 60 onto 210th Street, and was struck on its passenger side as it crossed the train tracks.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck was a 58-year-old man from Manitoba, Canada. He was transported by ambulance to Sanford Worthington Medical Center.

The driver of the train was uninjured. The 2006 Peterbilt semi-tractor received significant damage and was towed from the scene.

The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol and the Brewster Fire Department.
