RCMP asking for dash cam footage after one person died in a semi truck crash near 100 Mile House – BC News – Castanet.net

UPDATE: 7:25 p.m.

A road near 100 Mile House has reopened to single lane traffic as of 7:05 p.m. on Saturday night after a fatal semi crash closed the area, according to police.

Canim-Hendrix Lake Road was closed for most of the day after the two vehicle crash. Once the vehicles involved have been totally removed, the road will be back to normal use.

“Our investigation is ongoing. 100 Mile RCMP requests that anyone with dash cameras please look at their footage if they were travelling between Exeter Station Road and Forest Grove in our area between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. along Hwy 97 and Canim Hendrix Lake Road.

Police are asking individuals to contact 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456 if you can provide this video.

One person is dead following a semi crash near 100 Mile House Saturday morning.

Around 6:54 a.m. police were notified by BC Ambulance and 100 Mile Fire Rescue about a two-vehicle crash along Canim-Hendrix Road at the west entrance of Kennedy Road in Gateway area.

According to police, one vehicle involved was a loaded semi-truck hauling a flat deck trailer.

RCMP confirmed one fatality related to the incident, and said they are currently in the process of notifying the deceased’s family.

The road is closed and police said it’s unknown when it will reopen because the traffic collision analyst is en route to the location. Dawson Maintenance is on scene and assisting with traffic being re-routed, but it appears that no viable detour is currently available. CVSE is attending the location to assist.
